“Aurora Rosé Premium” is a special designation used by the Pearl Science Laboratory to evaluate Akoya pearls that have even superior luster than the “Aurora Rosé” series, as indicated in their appraisal certificates. The evaluation criteria include luster, body color, blemishes and surface, shape, and nacre thickness. Pearls that meet the criteria of being white (the highest grade of Aurora Rosé), having “minor” or “slight” blemishes according to the Pearl Science Laboratory’s standards, having a round to symmetrical shape, and a nacre thickness of 0.3 mm or more qualify as Aurora Rosé Premium.
